Transcendent Wellness Yoga Teacher Training

At Transcendent Wellness, we believe that yoga is a powerful tool to bring clarity, understanding and balance to our lives. Our yoga teacher training program is based on Vira Bhava Yoga, and is Yoga Alliance approved. Our program consists of 230 hours of in-depth study, practice, and teaching. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, yogic philosophy, and the practical aspects of teaching yoga.

What Is 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?

A 200-hour Yoga Teaching Training provides education in the following categories as determined by Yoga Alliance:

  • Techniques, Training, and Practice

  • Teaching Methodology

  • Anatomy & Physiology

  • Yoga Philosophy/Ethics/Lifestyle

  • Practicum.

These categories provide instruction in areas such as asana foundations, safety, assisting techniques, planning and sequencing a yoga class, and vocabulary and the process of teaching.

How is Vira Bhava Yoga Teacher Training Different?

In addition to providing a full spectrum integrative Yoga experience that is Yoga Alliance (YA) Certified and based on the YA standards, we offer the choice between hybrid and fully-online programs that are firmly rooted in Sri Vidya Tantric Philosophy.

 

The intention is to teach and support empowered Yogis to find their voice and share it with the world.

 

Our training provides tools and skills for developing teachers who are seeking to ask questions, deepen their practice, and share it with others. In this training, we experience the study of Yoga within a community of like-minded students seeking positive and lasting impact in ourselves and our world.

In this training you will receive:

  • In depth understanding of the fascial system and the polyvagal system and

    • its impact on your asana practice

    • Its impact on the energetic system

    • Its relationship to emotions 

    • Its role in trauma recovery

    • How to structure your asana practice to support physical, energetic, emotional and spiritual healing

  • In depth understanding of trauma

    • How to structure your classes to be trauma sensitive

    • How to use asana to support the healing of physical, emotional, and sexual trauma

    • How to create and hold a safe space for integration and healing within your students

  • In depth understanding of asana alignment, both physically and energetically, specifically:

    • How to recognize fascial restrictions in your students’ postures

    • How to modify postures to support the release of fascial restrictions

    • How to verbally coach and physically adjust to support a greater release and exploration of fascial restrictions

  • Yoga students seeking

    • A deeper understanding of the asana and its effects on the energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

    • To apply asana for physical, energetic, emotional and spiritual healing within the context of the fascial system and polyvagal system

    • To understand how trauma becomes locked in the tissues of the body and how to release the tissue using a yoga practice to support the healing of trauma

  • ​Massage therapists seeking 

    • To understand the application of the fascial system and polyvagal system in their bodywork practice.

    • To extend their self care skills to  include a yoga practice

    • To offer their clients self care skills to support their bodywork

    • To understand how trauma becomes locked in the tissues of the body and how to release the tissue to support the healing of trauma.

  • Mental health counselors, social workers seeking to

    • ​Understand the somatic-emotional model of therapy

    • To confidently offer body centered practice to support the integration of and release of emotional holding patterns and trauma.

Training Is Facilitated By Brian Ruhmann And Guest Faculty.

Brian has completed studies in various styles of yoga including Iyengar, Svaroopa, Kripalu, and most recently Vira Bhava.  He has received additional training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.  Professionally, he holds a Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science.

Brian combines his deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology with asana, yoga energetics, and yogic philosophy to support his students in realizing their authentic selves through the physical and spiritual practice of yoga.

We offer several options for paying for the cost of the Yoga Teacher Training Program.  You have the option of either Pay In Full or a 6 Month Payment Plan.  The cost breakdown of each of these options is illustrated below:
